My daughter has been thriving in math since she started working with her tutor. Although math continues to be a challenge, her weekly WINS have instilled confidence and created a sense of ease with her overall approach to math.

The program has been great for our son, expanding and keeping him interested as the school math program runs a bit slow for him. This is the most engaged we see him with school work, and he enjoys his sessions so much.

There is so much I can say about how wonderful Room 17 and all the teachers are! We have had a great experience working with Room 17 and their teachers. They make math fun and take the time to know your child and their interests and then incorporate that into the learning. Mason always looks forward to his sessions!

My daughter started in 4th grade as a struggling math student. She is now in advanced math. She preserves through challenging math problems because she now has the confidence she can find a solution. Thanks Room 17! You truly have made a difference in my daughter’s life.

Parent of 5th grader: “The spark we see with you with the one on one with Room 17 is not one we see often in the classroom setting, as that kind of individualized attention is just not possible all the time when you need to focus on those who may be struggling. He is so engaged every week with you in the program.“

Room 17’s WIN Tutoring aims to not only support our roomies who may be feeling less confident or are struggling in math, but also to sustain and extend learning. Many of our “roomies” come to Room 17 because they LOVE math and want the extra challenge and/or math experiences outside of the classroom. Room 17 also offers Afterschool Programs, details can be found here. Feel free to share with your child’s PTA/PTO and perhaps Room 17 can provide this service to your school!
We do! We ask that you give us advanced notice (as best as you can), so that we can find the right tutor to meet the specific needs of your child. We have a variety of tutors (certified teachers as well as peer tutors) who specialize in particular courses. We do our best to find the most confident tutor for these specific needs.
Room 17 welcomes volunteers! Highschool students have several options to choose from, if they are working towards earning volunteer credit hours. Community members are always welcome to volunteer as well! Click here for our Volunteer Application which has more details.
For certified teachers or those who are on a path to certification, the first step is to complete this Teacher Application. For highschool and college students interested in tutoring, please complete this application. Once applications are reviewed and references have been checked, you will receive an email, call, or text to set up a meeting with a Room 17 director.
